Justin Antonipillai has practiced law at the highest levels, served as general counsel and run a federal agency, led international privacy negotiations, built and sold an enterprise software company, researched large language models, and invested in the next generation of AI companies. He brings that full perspective to every engagement.
Justin Antonipillai is Founder and CEO of Stewardshipped.ai, where he partners with law firm, general counsel, and company leadership to navigate the business model transformation that AI creates for legal services. He also founded Memoria, a platform that captures and preserves institutional knowledge for law firms and enterprises.
He serves as a venture partner at a VC fund, a senior advisor at a venture capital firm, and board-level advisor to growth companies including Gretel, Primordis, SGNL, Clearspeed, and Arkose Labs.
Previously, Justin founded and led WireWheel, a privacy-engineering platform used by Global 200 enterprises to automate GDPR, privacy, and cross-border data-transfer compliance. WireWheel was recognized by Gartner, named an IDC Innovator and RSA Innovation Sandbox finalist, and designated a top privacy technology by Forrester for five consecutive years. The company was acquired in 2023.
Justin's public-sector service spans all three branches of the U.S. government. During the Obama Administration, he served as Acting Under Secretary for Economic Affairs and General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Commerce, overseeing the Census Bureau and Bureau of Economic Analysis. He led the United States' negotiations on the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and GDPR implementation, directed multi-agency open-data initiatives, and led cross-agency efforts on encryption, quantum computing, and tax policy.
Earlier in his career, Justin was a partner at Arnold & Porter, representing Fortune 500 clients in complex commercial matters, serving on the firm's management committee, and leading firm-wide pro bono initiatives.
